Working at 4 Acre:
Workshops are formatted for 3 - 4 participants or as private lessons.
Some workshops take place on the 2nd level of the studio and require navigating stairs. (Accommodations can be made if requested ahead.)
Everyone who works in the studio is required to sign a waiver. See sample waiver here.
Adults(18+) only
Do not eat or drink in the print shop (first level of the studio.)
Closed toed shoes are required.
Personal protective equipment is required and not provided if you are renting the studio. PPE is provided if you are taking a workshop. Plan accordingly for each studio area.
Participants may cancel their registration by contacting [email protected] up to one week (5 business days) prior to the day of the workshop to receive a tuition refund (minus processing and materials fee) or a credit toward a future lesson, rental or workshop. No refunds will be given after that time.
If Syd must cancel a lesson, rental or workshop, all fees will be refunded or credited toward a later date.
Workshops with Partnering Organizations:
Workshops can be formatted for up to 30 participants at partnering organizations, but most are appropriate for 12 or less.
Beyond 12 participants the host is required to provide AV equipment that will project the demonstration work surface in a fashion that is visible to all participants.
Tools are provided for use during the workshop and not part of take-home kits.
Adults(18+) only
Workshops require a deposit to hold the date and purchase materials. Deposits are nonrefundable. Materials quantities are ordered based on the number of participants the host requests.
Refund policies for participants are at the discretion of the partnering organization.
Skill Levels
Beginner: No experience with any print or book process. Interested in trying a new skill.
Skilled Beginner: Maybe some experience in a print or book process. Or some experience in another craft with related skills; cutting paper, sewing etc. Patient and curious beginners also welcome.
Intermediate: Have taken a class or workshop in print or book before. Interested in independently making their own work.
Advanced: Independently making their own print or book work. Looking for a refresher or to work independently in the studio.
